Shree Balaji General Store

Shree Balaji General Store is located on the Main Road right by the Subzi Mandi in Kota. Since we are next to the vegetable market, it is always noisy and crowded around here. People come to buy their fresh greens and then pop into our shop for everything else, like soap, toothpaste, or some plastic buckets for their home. The shop is quite narrow and we have things hanging from the ceiling to save space. You have to watch your head sometimes when you walk in. It’s a very practical kind of place with no frills. We don’t have time for fancy displays because we are usually too busy grabbing things from the back for a customer who is in a hurry. The floors are a bit worn down from all the foot traffic over the years. We see everyone from the market vendors to the local families. We start our day very early, just like the vegetable sellers next door. It’s a constant stream of people asking for this and that. We might not always have every single brand in stock, but we carry the stuff that people actually use in their daily lives. We don't have any big slogans or anything like that. We just open the doors, serve the customers as best as we can, and go home tired. It’s a good spot to be in, even with all the shouting and the smells from the vegetable stalls nearby. It keeps us on our toes all day long.
