Shradha Stone

Our shop is right in Bazar No. 1 over in Ramganj Mandi. If you know this area, you know how busy it gets with all the stone trading going on. We have been sitting here in this spot for years, watching the market change around us. It is a lot of noise and people moving about all day long. We keep our stone slabs stacked up as neatly as we can, but space is always a bit tight in the bazaar. People pop in to ask about prices or just to see what kind of batches we got in recently. We don't do much talking besides what is necessary for the work. Most of the time, we are just checking the quality of the pieces coming in from the quarries nearby. Ramganj Mandi is famous for this stuff, so everyone around here knows a bit about stone. We aren't trying to do anything big or flashy. It’s just about having the material ready when someone needs it for their floor or a wall. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons, and the stone holds that heat, making the shop quite warm. We drink a lot of tea and just keep at it. It’s honest work and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the market over the years. Some days the traffic in the market is a real mess, but we just wait it out.
