Shiv Shankar Medicos

Shiv Shankar Medicos is located at Shop No. 13 inside the Bharat Vikas Hospital building. We are in the Shashtri Nagar area of Dadabadi here in Kota. Since we are inside the hospital, it stays fairly busy with people coming in at all hours with their prescriptions. The shop is small and filled with glass cabinets from floor to ceiling. I spend a lot of time searching for specific strips of medicine or looking for bottles that patients need. It can be a bit stressful when the hospital is crowded, but we just take it one person at a time. The air always has that faint medicinal smell, and we hear the hospital announcements in the background all day long. My chair is tucked in a corner behind the glass counter. Kota gets really hot in the summer months, so we rely on the building's cooling to stay comfortable while we work. We keep a lot of records on paper because it’s just easier for us to track what’s going out. Sometimes the doctors' handwriting is a bit of a puzzle, but we have been doing this long enough to figure it out most of the time. We don't have any big displays, just the essentials stacked neatly where we can reach them. People from all over Rajasthan come through these doors. It’s a plain, functional shop meant to serve the people visiting the hospital. We just focus on getting the right items to the people waiting at the window.
