Shekhawati General Store

Our shop, Shekhawati General Store, is located in the Shekhawti Building on the Dayaniyamain Road, right near the Dcm Road in Kota. We are quite close to the Govind Nagar Choraha, which is a very busy spot with lots of traffic and noise. Being on a main road means there is always someone popping in for something they forgot. We sell a bit of everything, from notebooks and pens to soaps and small household items. The building itself is an older one and has that solid feel to it. Inside, the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so I often have to use a small stool to reach the items at the top. It can get a bit disorganized during the rush hours when students or workers are passing by and need things quickly. We don't have a lot of help, so it’s mostly just us handling the customers and the stock. The floor is old tiles that have seen better days, and the lighting is just a few long tubes that hum a little. Outside, the sound of horns and engines never really stops until very late. It’s a practical place for practical people. We don't do anything fancy with the displays; we just put the goods where there is space and try to remember where everything is. It’s been our livelihood for a long time here in Kota and we are used to the daily grind at the Choraha.
