My workplace is at number 99, situated right near Shastri Nagar Park and the Shastri Market. It’s a very lively part of the city to be in. During the day, you can hear the kids playing in the park or the vendors calling out their prices in the market. The clinic itself is quite modest. I have my desk, a couple of chairs for patients, and a small area for keeping files. It’s often a bit cluttered because I have a lot of books and papers that I like to keep within reach. The building has been here for years, and you can see the wear on the doorframe and the tiles. I don't really bother with making things look like a corporate office. It’s more important that people feel they can just walk in and talk. Sometimes the market gets so crowded that it’s hard to find a parking spot nearby, but the locals don't seem to mind the walk. I spend most of my hours here, seeing one person after another. There’s a ceiling fan that makes a constant clicking sound, but I’ve stopped noticing it. When the market closes in the evening, the street gets a bit quieter, and that’s usually when I finish up my notes. It’s a busy life, being right in the heart of Shastri Nagar, but it feels right to be where all the activity is.
