About Sethi Misthan Bhandar – Food & Beverages in Kota
Nayapura is an old part of the city, and our shop, Sethi Misthan Bhandar, fits right into the narrow streets and the busy atmosphere. We have been here for a while, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. Every morning, the milk arrives, and we start the process of making the mawa and the syrups. The shop is small and the walls are a bit worn, but it’s where we do all our work. We don't use any big machines to make our sweets; it’s mostly just us using large spoons and heavy kadhais. People from the neighborhood come in for their daily fix, and we often know their families and what’s going on in their lives. It is more about the people than just the business. Sometimes the rain makes the street outside muddy, and business slows down, but we still keep the stoves going. We don't have a marketing plan or any glossy brochures. If you walk past, you’ll just see us working in the back or standing at the counter waiting for the next customer. The fans hum overhead, and there’s usually a bit of flour on our clothes by the end of the shift. We just try to keep things honest and do the work the way we were taught. It isn't perfect, but it’s what we know how to do here in Nayapura.
