Sawan Phuar

Sawan Phuar is situated right by Kota Junction. Being near the railway station means we see a lot of different people every day. Some are just arriving in town and look a bit lost, while others are rushing to catch their trains. We’ve been here for a long time, watching the station change and the city grow around it. It is usually quite noisy with the sounds of the trains and the announcements, but we are used to it by now. We serve simple refreshments and things people might need for their journey. It’s a fast-paced environment because nobody has much time to wait. I have a couple of staff members who help me keep things moving. We deal with all sorts of characters, from tired travelers to local porters. Sometimes it gets stressful when a big train arrives and fifty people want something at once. We just do our best to serve everyone quickly. The shop itself is nothing special to look at, just a practical space in a busy location. I don't spend much on decorating or anything like that. As long as the lights are on and we have stock, we are good to go. It’s an honest way to make a living, right in the heart of the transit hub of Kota. You see a lot of life happening at the junction, and we are right in the middle.
