Rishi Watch Company

If you find yourself on Kotri Road in Gumanpura, you might see Rishi Watch Company. It’s been sitting here for years, right in the middle of all the noise and people moving about. We handle a lot of watch repairs, mostly just simple things like changing out dead batteries or fixing a broken clasp that someone caught on their sleeve. The shop isn't very large, so it gets crowded quickly if more than three people come in at once. We have shelves lined with boxes and some older clocks that have been waiting for parts for months. Gumanpura is always busy, so there is usually someone popping in with a watch they found in a drawer that hasn't worked since the nineties. We take a look, tell them if it’s worth fixing, and go from there. It's honest work, sitting at the bench with the tiny tools. Sometimes the traffic on Kotri Road makes the floor vibrate a little, but we are used to it by now. We aren't trying to be some big luxury showroom. It’s just a local place where you can get your watch looked at without much fuss. We open up in the morning, sweep the front, and stay until the evening rush starts to die down. It is a simple way to spend the day, and we've gotten to know the regular commuters quite well over time.
