Rishabh General Stores

If you go down to Bahadur Bazar in Kota, you’ll find Rishabh General Stores. We’ve been operating out of this market for quite a while now. Bahadur Bazar is one of those old-school places where everyone knows everyone. Our store is a general store, which basically means we try to keep a little bit of everything. We have snacks, household cleaning stuff, toiletries, and some basic grocery items. It’s the kind of place where a neighbor stops by for a packet of biscuits and ends up staying for a five-minute chat about the weather. The shop isn't modern or fancy. It has old wooden shelves and a counter that’s seen a lot of use. We don't have fancy lighting or computerized systems for everything. We just write things down and keep track of our stock the old way. It gets dusty sometimes because of the market traffic, but we clean up as much as we can. Running a general store in an area like Bahadur Bazar means you have to be ready for anything. One person wants a lightbulb, the next person wants a kilo of sugar. It keeps the day interesting. We aren't trying to compete with the big supermarkets. We just want to be the local spot where people can grab what they need on their way home. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and unpacking boxes, but it's what we do.
