Ramesh General Store

If you head over to Shopping Centre 329, you’ll find us tucked away in our usual spot. I’ve been Ramesh for as long as I can remember, and this store has been my whole life. We keep everything from soap to snacks and those little things people forget they need until they run out. The shelves are packed pretty tight, and sometimes I have to use a ladder to reach the stuff at the very top. It’s not a supermarket where you wander around with a cart; you just tell me what you want and I find it for you in the piles. In the mornings, the milk delivery comes early, so I’m usually here before the sun is even fully up. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. Sometimes the kids from the nearby school come in and take forever to pick out a single piece of candy, but I don’t mind. It’s nice to have the company. The bookkeeping is all done in a thick ledger I keep under the counter. Sometimes I lose my pen and have to search through a dozen boxes to find another one. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but I know where everything is. People come here because it’s close to home and they don’t have to wait in a long line at the big stores. We just sell what people need for their houses every day without making any fuss.
