About Raj Traders And Kirana General Store – Food & Beverages in Kota
Nayapura is always full of people, and Khai Road is one of those places that never really goes quiet. Our store is a mix of things, being both a trading spot and a general kirana. We have big drums of cooking oil and stacks of flour bags that reach almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a workout moving those things around every day. The air always smells like a mix of raw spices and toasted grains. We deal with both local families and some smaller shops who buy things in larger amounts. The front of the shop is often blocked by a delivery rickshaw or a truck unloading supplies. We’ve got a long wooden counter that has been there for years, and it’s where we do all the weighing and packing. It gets pretty hectic in the mornings when everyone wants their supplies at the same time. We don't really have a set routine, we just handle whoever walks through the door. Sometimes we run out of things like sugar or salt and have to wait for the next delivery to arrive. The walls are covered in old calendars and some shelves that have started to sag under the weight of the tin cans. It’s a practical place, built for work and not for looking pretty. We just keep the door open and stay busy until the sun goes down over Khai Road. There's a stray cat that hangs around the entrance sometimes, looking for any scraps or a bit of shade.
