Raj Kirana & General Store

Raj Kirana & General Store is over in the Purani Sabji Mandi area of Kishore Pura. Our address is 28/287, which is easy to find if you know the old vegetable market. Being near the mandi means there is always a lot of noise and people moving around. We sell all sorts of things, not just food. You can find toiletries, stationery for school kids, and the usual kitchen staples like lentils and spices. The shop is quite packed with stuff from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room for two people to stand, but we manage. We’ve been here for years, and the building itself is quite old. We open the shutters early in the morning just as the vegetable sellers start their day. It’s a bit chaotic at times with all the carts and bikes passing by. We don't have fancy computers or barcode scanners, just a simple ledger and a calculator. It’s an honest way to make a living. We know most of our customers by their names and what they usually buy. If someone is short a few rupees, we usually tell them to pay next time. That’s just how it works in a place like this. We are just a local store trying to provide what the family needs for their home without any big fuss or complicated systems. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything in stock, but we do our best for the neighborhood.
