Raish Kirana Store

Raish Kirana Store is right on the Ramganj Mandi Road in Suket. If you are driving through, you have probably passed us many times. The shop is positioned where it gets a lot of traffic, so we see many new faces along with our regular locals. We carry all the usual kirana items like different types of dal, cooking oils, and big bags of salt. The space inside is tight because we try to stock a lot of variety to make sure nobody has to go elsewhere. There is a lot of noise from the road, with trucks and bikes going past all day long. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three or four people want different things at the same time, but we handle it. My hands are usually dusty from weighing out grains or handling the burlap sacks. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us making sure things are in order. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit but it keeps the air moving. We’ve had this spot for years and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy for that right now. We focus on keeping the bins full and making sure the tea leaves and sugar are always reachable. It's a practical business and we take it one day at a time, making sure the local families have what they need to keep their kitchens running.
