Punav Slates & Stones

Out here at A 46 on Ipia Road No 3, we deal with a lot of heavy material. Our yard is full of different kinds of slates and stones piled up in stacks. It’s a dusty place, as you might expect, and we spend a lot of our time moving these heavy slabs around. You won’t find any carpets or fancy desks here. Instead, there’s just the sound of stone hitting stone and the occasional truck coming in to load up. We get quite a bit of sun in the yard, which makes the stones hot to the touch by midday. We mostly work with local builders and people who are doing up their own places and need specific types of rock or slate for their projects. Every piece of stone is a bit different, so we spend time sorting through the piles to find the right ones. It’s hard on the back and the hands, but there’s something nice about working with natural materials all day. We have a small shed where we keep the paperwork, but most of the business happens outside among the stacks. The neighbors on Road No 3 are mostly other industrial shops, so it’s a pretty loud and busy environment. We just keep our heads down and focus on the stone. It’s simple, rugged work, and the yard hasn't changed much since we started. We’re just here every day, moving stone and helping people get what they need for their builds.
