About Preeti Provision Store – Food & Beverages in Kota
Living and working in Kota, especially in the Keshavpura area, means things are always moving. Our shop is at number 785, which is easy enough to find if you know the lanes around here. It’s not a very big space, but we try to fit in all the daily essentials like milk, bread, and eggs. Every morning the delivery trucks come by early, and we have to move fast to get the fresh items inside before the sun gets too hot. The shelves are mostly packed with soaps, detergents, and packets of biscuits. We have a small fridge in the corner that hums a bit too loud, but it keeps the drinks cold. Sometimes neighbors stop by just to chat for a minute while they pick up a pack of matches or some tea leaves. The floor is made of old stone that stays cool even in the summer heat. We don’t use any computers; everything is written down in a notebook with a blue pen. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once. We spend time dusting the packets because the road outside brings in a lot of grit. Keshavpura 785 is a quiet enough spot most of the time, apart from the school kids passing by in the afternoon. It’s just a basic provision store for the folks living on this block. There are stacks of newspapers in the corner that we haven't recycled yet, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound.
