Prakash Confeshners

Prakash Confeshners is located right on the Main Road in Dadabadi, just across from the police station. Since we are in Kota, we see a lot of young students who are living away from home for their studies. They usually come in late in the evening looking for chips, biscuits, or something sweet to eat while they stay up late. The shop is narrow and the walls are covered with racks of snacks. The police officers from the station often cross the road to get a cold water or a soda during their shifts. It is a lively spot to be in. The sign above our door is getting a bit old and the colors have started to peel, but everyone in Dadabadi knows the place. I keep a few large glass jars filled with local candies right at the front for the neighborhood kids. Rajasthan summers are very dry and dusty, so I have to sweep the floor three or four times a day. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you want to see what we have, you just walk in. The fridge hums loudly in the corner, but it’s a sound I’ve grown to like. We stay open until the street lights go dim and the students head back to their hostels. It is a simple life of counting change and stocking shelves.
