Pragati Fancy &General Store

People always ask why we have so many things in such a small space at Gobriya Bawari Circle. Well, that is just how a general store works. We are right on Jhalawar Road here in Kota and it gets really busy with all the traffic passing by. I started helping out here a few years ago because my family needed a hand. We sell a bit of everything like fancy items, ribbons, bangles, and also the regular things people need for their houses like soap and toothpaste. The dust from the road is a bit of a problem but we keep cleaning the counters. It is a local spot where people from the nearby colonies stop when they are going home from work. Sometimes the kids come in for a pen or a notebook for school. We do not have a big fancy office or anything like that, just the wooden counter and the metal shelves. Kota gets so hot in the summer that we usually have the fan running all day long. If you live around here, you probably know the shop already. We are not trying to do anything big, just keeping the shop running and making sure we have what the neighbors need. Sometimes we forget to order something and then we have to tell the customer to come back tomorrow. It is a simple life. We like being part of the circle and seeing the same faces every day.
