Down on Sh Balwant Singh Street No 4, in the Shakti Nagar area of Sri Ganganagar, you’ll find our study center. It’s located in the Old Abadi part of town, which has its own charm. The building is an older one, and we are tucked away in Ward No 5. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of benches and some old whiteboards that have seen better days. During the summer, the fans run constantly to keep the heat away, but it’s still pretty warm. We see a lot of students coming and going throughout the day. Some stay for hours just reading or practicing their work. There’s always a bit of a murmur in the rooms, the sound of pages turning or someone scribbling on a notepad. We keep a big water cooler in the corner because everyone gets thirsty in this Rajasthan weather. The street outside can be noisy with scooters and people talking, but once you’re inside, it’s mostly quiet enough to focus. We don't have fancy computers or leather chairs. It’s just a simple place for people who want to sit down and get their studying done. The clock on the wall ticks a bit loud, but nobody seems to mind. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down. It's a humble spot, but it serves the neighborhood well enough. Sometimes we share a few snacks during the breaks between the sessions.
