Some are just passing through town on the train, and others live right around the corner. We keep the shop stocked with whatever we’ve made that morning. The main market is always loud, but you get used to it after a few years. We don't have a marketing team or a big business plan. We just open the shutters and see who comes in. Our hands stay busy with the sweets and the namkeen. It’s a lot of heavy lifting with the flour and sugar sacks. We don't talk much about visions or missions or anything like that. We just want to make sure the containers stay full. The lights in the shop stay on late because the market stays active until the night. Sometimes the train schedules dictate when we get our biggest rushes of people. It’s a fast-paced environment but we’ve found our own rhythm. Station Road Main Market has its own personality, and we feel like we are part of the scenery now. We don't use fancy packaging; it’s mostly just clear bags and simple brown boxes. It’s practical for everyone. We are just Pandit Namkeen & Sweets, and we’ve been here at the market for as long as I can remember. We just do the work and go home.
