Our place is called Painters, and you can find us at Kota Junction on Mala Road. Being so close to the station means we hear the trains all the time, which sort of becomes part of the background after a while. The shop is filled with all kinds of cans and buckets of paint. There are splashes of color on the floor that have been there for years, and we don't bother trying to scrub them off. It shows that work is getting done. We spend most of our time mixing different shades and helping people figure out how much paint they actually need for their walls. Mala Road is a busy stretch, so there’s always someone popping in for a brush or a bit of thinner. We don't have a professional decorator's eye or anything like that. We just know which paints work best for the local houses and the weather we get here in Kota. Sometimes we get a bit messy with the mixing, but that’s just how it goes. The shelves are a bit disorganized, but if you ask for a specific color, we can usually find it in a minute or two. We aren't looking to be the biggest shop in town. We just want to keep doing what we do, serving the people who live around the junction and keeping the shop open for whoever needs a bit of color to brighten up their home or workplace.
