Padam Kirana Store

Over in Sector 4 of Keshavpura, you will find Padam Kirana Store. Our address is H.N.74, and we are situated on Masjid Road in Kota. It’s a local neighborhood, so most of the people who come into the shop live just a few houses away. We’ve been running this place for a good while, and it has become a daily routine for us. We open the doors early in the morning to catch the people heading out for work. We sell all the basic groceries you’d expect from a kirana store. From lentils to spices and little things for the house. The Masjid Road can get pretty busy during prayer times, so we see a lot of movement then. The shop itself is quite modest. We don't have any fancy technology, just an old ledger and our scales. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the wind in Rajasthan, so cleaning is a never-ending job. We like the community here in Keshavpura. It’s nice to talk to the regulars about how their families are doing. We don't try to compete with the big supermarkets. We just offer the convenience of being right around the corner. If someone is short a few rupees, we usually tell them to pay next time. That’s just how it works in a small place like this. We are just here, day in and day out, doing our bit.
