Om Sai General Store

If you’re traveling down the Kota Jhalawar Road toward Ramganj Mandi, you’ll find us in Suket. Om Sai General Store is just a local shop for the people living nearby. I carry the usual things like pulses, oil, spices, and cleaning supplies. My family lives just behind the shop, so one of us is almost always here if someone knocks. We keep it simple. If someone needs a kilo of sugar or some loose tea leaves, they come here. The road outside can get pretty busy with trucks and buses, so it gets a bit dusty inside. I spend a lot of time wiping down the glass jars. We have those big jars for candies and biscuits that the local kids love to pick from. It’s a small village feel even though the main road is right there. I don't bother with fancy displays or lights. I just put the sacks of grain where people can see them easily. Sometimes we run out of something because the delivery truck got delayed, but people around here understand. They’ve been shopping with me for a long time and they know I'll get it tomorrow. I like the routine of it. Opening the shutters in the morning and seeing the sun come up over the road is nice. We have a small fridge for cold drinks which is very popular in the summer months. It’s just a regular life running a store for regular people.
