New Kishore General Store

New Kishore General Store is situated on Rampura Road, right in the Main Market of Ladpura in Kota. It is a very central spot, so we see a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. The area is quite lively and there are shops all around us. I usually open up around nine in the morning. I start by moving some of the larger items out front so people can see we are open. We sell all the basic things like toothpaste, spices, and snacks. The shop is called New Kishore but we have been here long enough that nothing feels very new anymore. The shelves are filled to the brim. Sometimes it is hard to find a specific thing, but I usually know exactly where everything is kept. The market can be very loud with all the shouting and the horns, but you get used to it. I spend a lot of my time talking to the regular customers. We talk about local news or just the heat. In Kota, the summers are really something, so we stay inside the shade of the shop as much as possible. I don't use any fancy machines to scan items, I just know the prices by heart. It is a simple life and a simple shop. We just try to keep the things people need on a daily basis and that is enough for us.
