Navkar Kota Saree

Navkar Kota Saree is over in Bheru Gali within the Rampura Bazar area. We specifically focus on Kota sarees because that’s what we know best. These sarees are known for being light and having that distinct square pattern in the weave. My family has been involved with these fabrics for a couple of generations now. The shop is located down a narrow lane, which means it stays a little cooler in the shade, but it also means there isn't much of a breeze. We have several wooden racks where we keep the stock sorted by color and material weight. It’s not a fancy place by any means. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the rug near the entrance is getting a bit thin. But people don't come here for the decor. They come to find a saree that feels right. We spend our mornings checking the pieces for any flaws and folding them back up after the previous day's customers. It’s a slow process, but you can’t rush it or you’ll ruin the fabric. Sometimes we sit outside on a small bench when the shop is quiet, just watching the neighbors go about their business. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. We just open the doors every morning and see who comes in. It’s a simple life, and the work is steady enough for us to keep going year after year.
