Nadim Kirana Store

Nadim Kirana Store is out on Jhalawar Road in Suket, right in the Ramganj Mandi area. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and buses passing by all day. We keep the shop open for most of the day because you never know when someone might need a packet of biscuits or some washing powder. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so we have a small wooden ladder we use to reach the stuff on the top. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside when we get a big delivery of flour or rice sacks. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the boxes just pile up in the corners. The lighting isn't the best, especially in the back, but we know where everything is. There is a small bench outside where we sit sometimes when there are no customers. Most of the people who stop by are just locals or people driving through who need something quick. We don't have any fancy displays, just the products sitting out where they can be seen. The cooler in the corner is always full of water and soda, which is good because the road gets really hot in the afternoons. It is just a plain shop doing what it does every day without much fuss or change. We've got a lot of jars of candy right on the counter for the children. Sometimes the wind blows the dust right inside the door.
