N K Watch Company is located in Purani Sabji Mandi. It’s an old part of town and the shop reflects that. We don't have fancy floors or bright neon lights. It’s just a plain room with a lot of character and plenty of watches. The market around us is always full of life, especially in the early mornings. We usually open up a bit later once the main rush of the vegetable sellers has calmed down. My hands are always busy with something. If I'm not fixing a watch, I'm cleaning the display cases or sorting through a shipment of new straps. We carry a bit of everything because the people who live around here have all sorts of tastes. Some want something simple and cheap, others want something that looks a bit more traditional. We don't talk much while we work. It requires a lot of focus to get the timing right on a mechanical watch. If you're off by even a little bit, it won't keep time properly. People trust us because we’ve been here in the Mandi for so long. We know their names and they know ours. It’s a small community. We just provide a service that people need. It’s not complicated. We fix what’s broken and sell what’s new, and we do it every day except Sundays. That one day off is enough to get ready for another week of looking at gears.
