Moti Stone

Ramganj Mandi is a place where everyone knows stone, and we are right in the thick of it at Bazar No. 3. Being near Panna Lal Chouraha means there is always noise and people moving about. Our shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside. It's just a place where we keep the stone and talk to customers who come in from the bazaar. The walls are a bit stained from years of work and the floor is always covered in a fine layer of stone dust. We don't have a website or any of those modern things. We just open up early in the morning and see who shows up. My brother handles the cutting and I take care of the people coming in to buy. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and shifting pieces to show the grain. We eat our lunch right there at the desk most days. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and wait for it to come back so we can get the machines running again. People around here don't want a long speech; they just want to know the price and if we can get it delivered by Tuesday. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a piece of stone has a crack, we show it to you. No sense in hiding it.
