Metro Gift & General Store

Metro Gift & General Store sits right on the Main Road Chhawani Road. Because we are a general store too, we have a lot more variety than just gifts. We have things like soap, snacks, and basic household stuff sitting alongside the toys and the picture frames. It is a very busy road, so we get people stopping by in their cars all the time. The shop is long and narrow. We have stuff stacked all the way to the very back wall. It can be a bit dark in the rear of the store because the sunlight from the front door does not reach that far. We use a lot of fluorescent bulbs to keep the place bright enough to see. We have a small fridge for cold drinks which is very popular during the hot summer months. Most of our day is spent unloading heavy crates and putting new things on the shelves. It is hard work and our backs usually ache by the end of the long shift. Chhawani Road is always full of big trucks and buses passing by. The noise is just something you get used to after a week or two of working here. We have a lot of regular customers who come by for their daily needs. They usually pick up a small gift item while they are already here. It is a plain, honest way to make a living.
