Meena Kirana Store

If you walk down Udyog Marg and turn into the Sabzi Mandi Gali near DCM Chourah, you will find our store. It is a small kirana shop tucked away in a very busy lane. Because we are so close to the vegetable market, there is always a lot of foot traffic and noise. People stop by after they finish buying their greens to pick up things like lentils, spices, or a bar of soap. The shelves are packed tight from the floor to the ceiling because we try to keep a little bit of everything in stock. It is often a bit cramped inside, especially when we are getting a new delivery of flour sacks or oil tins that need to be put away. We spend a lot of our day weighing out items and putting them into small bags for the neighbors. It is a very local kind of place where we know the people and what they like to cook for their families. The lane outside can get quite muddy when it rains, and the smell of fresh vegetables from the mandi is always in the air. We open up early and don't really close until the market starts to quiet down at night. There is no fancy lighting or air conditioning, just a simple shop where we do our daily business. We have been part of this street for a long time, watching the area grow and change around the chourah. It is just a regular life of selling basic goods.
