Mahima Confectioners

We are over here at Shivaji Market near the Sorajpol gate area. It is usually pretty crowded outside most mornings. My brother and I get here early to open up Mahima Confectioners before the sun gets too high. There is always a lot to do with the glass cases and making sure everything is where it belongs. We don't really do much fancy stuff, just the usual sweets and snacks that people around here like to pick up on their way home. The shop isn't very big and sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, but it keeps us cool enough. We spend a lot of time just talking to the regulars who come by for a bit of conversation. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to move boxes around in the back, which is a bit of a mess. It is just a normal local place where we work every day except for some holidays. The street outside is always noisy with scooters and people shouting, but inside it is mostly just us working. We have been in this spot for a while now and most people in the market know who we are. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and packing things into small bags. We just try to keep things simple and keep the shelves full when we can. That is pretty much how things go for us every day here.
