Mahendra Stone Suppliers is right at 25, New Stone Mandi. Being in a place called Stone Mandi, you can probably guess what it’s like around here. There is stone everywhere you look and the sound of trucks is constant. We spend our days surrounded by blocks and slabs of all kinds. It’s a dusty environment and our shoes are always covered in it. We don't have a formal lobby or anything like that. People just walk in, look at the stone we have in the yard, and we talk about what they need. Some of the pieces are really heavy and require the crane to move them around. We’ve been part of this market for a good while. The weather can make the work tough, especially when it’s raining or when the sun is beating down on the Mandi. We just keep moving through the piles of stone to find what the customer is looking for. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just supply stone to people who are building things. Sometimes we have a lot of stock and other times we're waiting on a delivery. It’s just the way the business goes. At the end of the day, we’re just glad to get the work done and head home. Our yard isn't the prettiest, but the stone is good and solid.
