If you are looking for Maa Sharda Confectionery, you have to find your way into Rampura Bazar and then down into Bakhpuri Kundo Ki Gali. It’s a very narrow little street where the houses are built close together. Our shop is just a small room filled with snacks, toffees, and various types of namkeen. Because the gali is so narrow, there is not much breeze, so it gets quite warm inside during the summer days. We serve mostly the families who live right here in the neighborhood. You see the same faces every single day, which is nice. The kids come in after school with a few coins to buy a treat. We don't have any fancy displays or expensive lighting. The shelves were built by hand many years ago and they are a bit uneven now. Sometimes the delivery van can't make it all the way down the lane, so we have to carry the boxes in ourselves. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us moving. My family lives just nearby, so we are always around if someone needs anything. We don't have a website or a phone number that people call. It’s just a local corner shop for the people who live in this part of the city. We’ve been here a long time and we like the quiet rhythm of this place.
