Amber Stones

We are out on Kota Road, which is a busy stretch of tarmac most of the time. Amber Stones is the name on the front of the building. We’ve been here long enough that the paint is starting to look a little weathered, but we like it that way. It shows we’ve been working. We deal with stones of all kinds, mostly stuff that people want for special occasions or just because they like how they look. We don’t have a fancy lobby or someone to open the door for you. You just walk in and we’ll say hello from behind the counter. Kota Road gets a lot of trucks and dust, so we are always cleaning the glass. It’s a bit of a battle, honestly. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the state. We just want to do a decent job for the people who stop by. Sometimes people are just passing through and see our sign. Other times, it's someone who has lived down the road for twenty years. We treat everyone the same. We talk about the weather, we talk about the stones, and we figure out what they need. It’s a plain and simple life running a shop out here. No corporate meetings, just us and the customers and the sound of the road outside.
