Kota Cancer Hospital

Kota Cancer Hospital is over at 2 Basant Vihar, right near the Kota Blood Bank in Dadabari. It is a quiet spot, even though we are close to K.K Pareek Hospital. The building has been here for a good while. You can see the blood bank from our front windows. The mornings start early, usually before the sun is fully up, as the night shift hands over their notes. The waiting area has some old wooden benches that have seen better days. We get a lot of people coming in from the surrounding villages, often looking a bit lost at first. We try to help them find the right desk without making too much of a fuss. The hallways are long and have posters about health pinned up with tape that is peeling off. We spend a lot of time on our feet, walking back and forth between the wards and the offices. The air smells like cleaning fluid most of the time. There is a small garden area out back where some of the staff go to sit for ten minutes when things get heavy. It is not a very big garden, just a few potted plants and a patch of grass. The elevator is a bit slow and groans when it goes up to the second floor. We are just a group of people working together in this corner of Dadabari. It stays pretty busy until the sun goes down.
