Kailash Provision Store

We've been sitting here at Talwandi 2 J 15 for quite a few years now. It is just a small provision store where we keep the usual things people need for their kitchens and homes. You can find different types of dal, rice, and spices in the big containers near the counter. We also have soaps, detergents, and some snacks for the kids who come by after school. The shop gets pretty crowded in the mornings when everyone realizes they are out of milk or sugar. I usually spend my time checking the stock and writing down what needs to be ordered from the wholesalers. It is not a big supermarket with bright lights or anything like that. Just a simple place with wooden shelves that have seen better days. My family helps out during the busy hours. We know most of the people who live around here by their names. Sometimes we chat about the weather or how the prices of oil keep going up. It stays dusty because the road outside is always busy, so we are constantly wiping down the jars. We try to keep everything people ask for, but sometimes we run out of specific brands. That is just how it goes in a small shop like this. We open early and stay until late evening, just making sure the neighbors can get their daily supplies without having to go too far. It's a quiet life behind the counter.
