Jai Shree Ram Provision

We are located right at Talwandi 4-A-20, tucked into the neighborhood where most people know us by sight. Jai Shree Ram Provision is basically a small corner of the world where you can find the usual stuff like flour, pulses, and cooking oil. I spend a lot of time checking the bags for holes and making sure the glass jars are full. It's dusty work sometimes, especially when we get a new shipment of grain. Customers drop by on their way home to pick up things they forgot for dinner or just a packet of biscuits. We keep a notepad behind the counter for the regulars who pay later in the month. It’s not a supermarket with bright lights or anything like that. It’s more of a place where you can hear the old ceiling fan humming while you wait for your change. My kids sometimes help me stack the shelves on weekends, though they’d usually rather be outside playing. I’ve learned which brand of tea the old ladies prefer and who likes their rice in the larger bags. The space is a bit tight, especially when the delivery guy brings in the new crates of soda and stacks them in the aisle. You have to step around the boxes sometimes. I’ve lived around here for years, so running the store felt like a natural thing to do. It keeps me on my feet and I get to see everyone. Most days are quiet until school lets out and the kids come in for snacks.
