Jai Mata Di Bag Palace & Altration

We've been here at 303 Shastri Nagar for a while now. Most people know us as Jai Mata Di Bag Palace & Altration. It’s just a regular shop where we sell bags and fix them when the zippers break or the straps come loose. Dadabari is a busy spot, so we see a lot of folks coming in. Sometimes someone brings in a school bag that’s seen better days, and we see what we can do to make it last another year. Other times it's a suitcase from a neighbor. We don't have a big fancy team or anything like that. It’s just us working with the machines and making sure things are stitched right. It gets a bit dusty with all the fabric and thread around, but that’s how it goes in this line of work. People come by, they ask for a price, we tell them, and then we get to it. We keep a variety of bags on the shelves too, from small ones for daily use to bigger ones. If you walk past the shop in Shastri Nagar, you’ll see the bags hanging up outside. It’s not a quiet place, there’s always noise from the street. We just stay busy with the repairs mostly. Fixing a bag takes time and focus, especially if the material is thick. We’ve learned over the years how to handle different types of cloth and leather and keep the machines running well.
