Over at 1 Rawathbhata Road, you’ll find Golden Watch. It isn't a huge store, just a comfortable spot where we’ve been working for years. The road outside gets busy with traffic, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of us working. We get a lot of commuters stopping by because they noticed their watch was slow on the way to work. We try to get things done quickly for them. My brother and I run the place together. He handles the newer stuff and I usually stick to the mechanical ones that need winding. There’s a lot of dust that comes in from the street, so we’re always wiping down the glass counters. It feels like a never-ending job. We have some old clocks on the wall that aren't even for sale, they’re just there because we like them. Sometimes the locals just drop in to check their time against our main clock. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for whoever needs help. It’s a simple life. We fix things, we talk to the regulars, and we close up when the sun goes down. Most people know us by now. It’s not about being the biggest shop, just about being the one that’s open when your watch stops. The workbench is getting a bit old and scarred from all the tools, but it still serves its purpose every day for the both of us.
