Gayatri Bakers & Coffee Shop

In the Rangbari area of Kota, you can find us at Gayatri Bakers & Coffee Shop. It isn't a huge place, just a few tables and a counter where we keep the bread and biscuits. I start baking early in the morning before the sun even comes up. The smell of the oven is the best part of the day. Later on, people start coming in for their morning coffee or to pick up some rusk for their breakfast. It’s a mix of students and families living nearby. I try to keep things quiet and simple. No loud music or bright lights. Sometimes the coffee machine acts up and I have to spend an hour fixing it, which is frustrating, but that’s part of running a shop. We have some cakes too, but mostly we stick to the daily stuff people need. I like talking to the regulars who come in every single day at the same time. You get to know their stories and their troubles. It makes the shop feel like more than just a place of business. It’s more like a part of the neighborhood. The Rangbari road can get busy, but inside here, it feels a bit slower. I don't really have big plans for the future. I just want to keep the oven hot and the coffee brewing for whoever walks through the door today.
