We are based right here in Jaalkheda, specifically near the Kheda Choraha in Ladpura. It is a busy little corner in Kota. If you live around here, you probably pass by us when you are going about your daily errands. Our office is not anything special to look at, just a practical space where we keep our ledgers and handle the local accounts. We spend most of our time talking to people from the village and the surrounding areas about their savings. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, so we are always cleaning the desks. It gets pretty loud outside with the tractors and bikes going past the intersection. We started this because there was a need for something close to home. Most of our members are farmers or small shop owners from the 325001 zip code area. We usually have some tea going if you drop by in the afternoon. We don't use any fancy computers for everything, a lot of it is still done by hand in the registers. It takes time, but it works for us. We aren't trying to be a big city bank. We just want to make sure the people in Jaalkheda have a place to put their money where they can actually talk to someone they know. The door is usually open unless it's raining hard and we have to close the shutters to keep the water out. We are just local people working for the neighborhood.
