D.K. Stone Industries

Out here at D.K. Stone Industries, the work is hard and the days are long. We are located in Kudayala, right on Suket Road in Ramganj Mandi. Our yard is near the Parsamata Chouraha, so we see all the trucks passing through town. We deal with various types of stone slabs, mostly moving them around and getting them ready for transport. It’s a dusty job, and the sound of the cutters is something you just get used to after a while. We aren't a big corporation with fancy offices. We have a simple setup where we can manage our stock and talk to the drivers. The weather out here can be tough, especially in the summer heat, but the work doesn't stop. We spend a lot of time outdoors checking the quality of the stones and making sure the loading is done right. It’s a physical business that requires a lot of patience. Sometimes a shipment is delayed or a machine breaks down, and we just have to fix it and keep moving. We’ve been part of the Ramganj Mandi stone trade for a while now. It’s a community where everyone knows each other. We don't have any big mission statements or anything like that. We just focus on the stone slabs and making sure our daily tasks are finished before the sun goes down. It’s a lot of sweat and effort, but it’s what we do here every day.
