Dinesh Mawa Wala

Down in Gumanpura at Sindhi Colony 5, that is where Dinesh Mawa Wala is located. We mostly deal with mawa, which is what everyone needs when they want to make good sweets at home. It’s a specific kind of business, focusing on the quality of the dairy we bring in. The shop smells like milk and sugar most of the time. We spend hours making sure the texture is right because if the mawa isn't good, the gulab jamuns or barfis won't turn out right either. It’s a bit of a messy job, and the heat from the large pans can be quite a lot during the summer months. People from all over Sindhi Colony come to us, especially when there is a wedding or a festival coming up. We don't have a big fancy storefront with neon signs. It’s just a practical space where we do the work. Often, you’ll see us busy with large containers or talking to suppliers about the milk delivery. We keep things simple and focus on what we know. It’s not a complicated business, but it requires a lot of patience and standing on your feet all day. We’ve been in Gumanpura for a while now, and we just keep doing what we do every day. It’s about being there when someone needs that one main ingredient for their kitchen or their party.
