Deep Gift Centre

Deep Gift Centre is our small spot in the Jhalawar New Cloth Market. If you’ve been to the market, you know it’s mostly about fabrics and clothes, but we provide something a bit different. We figured people buying new clothes might also need a gift to go along with them for a wedding or a party. Our shop is tucked in among the cloth merchants. It’s not very big, so we have to stack things high. We have all sorts of gift items, from clocks to decorative pieces for the home. The market is always a busy place, especially during the wedding season when everyone is looking for something special. We don't have any corporate slogans or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and see who comes by. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we usually have a fan going while we organize the latest shipment of items. Sometimes the market gets so crowded you can barely walk, but that’s just life in Jhalawar. We like the atmosphere here. People come from the surrounding villages to do their shopping, and they often stop in to look at our display. We try to keep things that look nice but don’t cost too much. It’s a practical way to run a shop. We just stay focused on our work and talk to the people who wander in from the cloth shops. It's a busy life but we wouldn't change it.
