Daksh Medicos

Daksh Medicos is situated at 3 P 5 in Talwandi, Kota, right across from Chandani Hospital. Being near a hospital means we see people at all hours, often looking a bit stressed or in a hurry. The shop is quite small but we try to keep the medicine strips organized in those little plastic drawers. It takes a lot of time to sort through everything and make sure nothing is expired. The air conditioner stays on most of the day because the medicines need to be kept at a decent temperature, especially in the Rajasthan heat. We have a high counter where we stand and talk to people about what they need. Sometimes the handwriting on the notes people bring is hard to read, so we have to look closely or ask questions. It’s a very quiet environment inside compared to the busy street outside. We have a small fridge for the stuff that needs to stay cold, and it has a bit of a rattle when it runs. We spend our downtime checking the inventory lists against what is actually on the shelves. There isn't much space for us to sit down, so we are on our feet quite a bit. We keep a stack of paper bags ready for packing things up. It’s a steady job of looking at boxes and labels all day. We try to keep the glass front of the shop clean from fingerprints as much as possible.
