Couture Institute Of Fashion Technology

At the Couture Institute Of Fashion Technology, we are located at 1-Ka-37 in Vigyan Nagar. If you walk in, the first thing you’ll probably notice is the sound of sewing machines running. There are usually scraps of fabric all over the floor and mannequins standing in various corners wearing half-finished projects. It’s a bit of a creative mess most of the time. We spend our days teaching people how to cut patterns and get the stitching just right. It’s a lot of hands-on work and our fingers often have little pin pricks or ink stains on them. The light in the main room is quite bright which helps when you are trying to thread a needle or see a faint line on a piece of cloth. We have big tables where the students spread out their work and it can get quite loud when everyone is talking at once. Vigyan Nagar is a nice area and we get a lot of local people coming in to ask about the classes. We don't have any fancy displays in the window, just a few things we’ve been working on lately. It’s a practical place where people come to learn a skill and we try to keep things as straightforward as possible. Sometimes we run out of thread or needles and someone has to run out to get more. It’s just how the days go here.
