Chourasia Nmkeen & Misthan Bhandar

Mahaveer Nagar 8 is a busy place, and we are right in the middle of it at IPIA. Chourasia Nmkeen & Misthan Bhandar has been serving the locals here for quite some time. We make a lot of different snacks and sweets every day. The kitchen in the back is always going with the smell of frying namkeen and sugar syrup. It gets really loud sometimes. My family helps out with everything, from weighing the snacks to taking the money at the counter. During festivals, it’s a total madhouse here. We barely have time to sit down or eat ourselves because everyone wants their sweets at the same time. The local students from the coaching areas often stop by for a quick samosa or some kachori in the morning. I try to keep the prices fair because I know people work hard for their money around here. It’s not a fancy showroom with glass walls and air conditioning. It’s just a local bhandar where the food is fresh and the service is quick. Sometimes we run out of things early if the crowd is big, but that’s just how it goes. We don't do much advertising. People tell their neighbors about our mixtures and that’s how we keep going. It’s a lot of sweat and long hours, but seeing the same customers coming back for years makes it feel alright.
