We’re located at number 7 in the New Motor Market. It’s a small shop but it’s packed from floor to ceiling with batteries. We have the heavy ones for trucks and tractors, and smaller ones for cars or even backup power at home. The place has that specific smell of lead and acid that you get in battery shops. We spend our days lifting heavy units and testing voltages. It’s hard on the back, but we’re used to it by now. Most of our customers are from the garages nearby or people whose cars wouldn’t start in the morning. We have a charging station in the back where we leave batteries overnight. It’s a bit of a maze of wires back there, so we have to be careful where we step. We don't have any fancy brochures or marketing materials. Usually, people just come in and tell us what kind of vehicle they have, and we find the right match. The floor is concrete and has a few stains from over the years, which is pretty common for a shop like ours. We keep a ledger for our regular customers who pay at the end of the month. It’s a busy environment with people constantly dropping off old batteries for scrap. We’ve been in this spot for quite a while and have seen the market grow and change around us. We just keep doing our thing, one battery at a time.
