Our shed is at G-449 on Road No. 7 in the Indraprastha Industrial Area. It is a big space because stone needs a lot of room. We have different sections for the raw material and the finished pieces. The noise of the water and the blades is constant throughout the shift. It is a messy job with a lot of sludge and dust, but that is the nature of stone work. We usually have a few trucks lined up waiting for their turn to load. Road No. 7 is always busy with other factories doing their own thing. We spend our days checking the quality of the slabs and making sure the measurements are okay. It is not a place where you wear nice shoes. You need sturdy boots because of the heavy weights and the wet floors. Our office is just a simple cabin with a fan that clicks. We keep our ledgers there and talk to the drivers. There is no corporate vibe here at all. It is just a bunch of people working hard in the heat of the industrial area. We have been at this plot for years and have seen the area grow and change. We just keep doing what we know how to do, which is handling stone blocks and getting them ready for use. It is simple, tiring, and honest work every single day.
