New Motor Market 4 is where we keep Bombay Motor Stores. This place is full of the smell of grease and metal. We have rows and rows of shelves packed with engine parts, gaskets, and filters. Most of the time, I’m covered in a bit of oil from handling the components. It’s a busy market area, so there are always mechanics coming in looking for specific bolts or belts for a repair they’re doing nearby. I’ve been working in the motor trade since I was a teenager. The shop is narrow and the lighting isn't the best, but I know exactly where every part is located. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s strictly for people who know what they are looking for under the hood of a car. Sometimes the parts are heavy and my arms get tired from reaching up to the high shelves. We keep a pot of tea going in the back for when things slow down for a minute. The floor is stained from years of boots walking in and out. It’s a rugged kind of work, but it’s what we do.
