About Asoka Marbal Cutting – Building & Construction Material in Kota
Working with stone is a heavy job and that is what we do here at Indira Market. The shop is at F-99 in the I.P.I.A area. You can hear the saws running from down the street most mornings. It is a very dusty environment, so we are always wearing masks and cleaning off our boots. We get these big slabs of marble delivered on trucks and then we have to figure out the best way to cut them down without wasting any material. Water runs over the blades to keep them cool, so the floor is usually wet. It is loud and you can’t really hear much else when the machines are going. I spend a lot of time measuring things twice because once you make a cut in marble, you can't exactly glue it back together. We work with different types of stone, some harder than others. The local builders and some homeowners come by to check on their orders. They want specific sizes for their floors or kitchens. It isn’t an easy life, lifting those heavy pieces and moving them around, but it is steady work. My back usually aches by the time I lock up the gate at night. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just the workshop where the real work happens. Sometimes a piece breaks and we have to start over, which is frustrating, but that's just part of the business in a place like this.
